We've been in Lima for three days getting our travel legs under us and developing the routine that allows us to "go with the flow".  The location of our Airbnb is central to restaurants, parks, and the Larcomar Mall.  It's a mall that would rival the fanciest malls in the states.  It has three levels carved into the side of a cliff over looking the beach and the Pacific beyond.  Brynion and I visited this mall back in 2009 on our first South American adventure.  The mall has an outdoor playground that the kids were very excited to see and play on.  It was the kids' first real interaction with other kids and the realization that the kids here speak Spanish was finally sinking in.  That didn't stop Tabor.  She was quick to make a friend and called her my "Spanish speaking" friend.  Tabor has always been motivated by play dates and being able to play with friends.  I think this will be the motivation that will push her to want to learn Spanish.  On our trip so far, Nash and Tabor have already spent a lot of time playing together.  It will be cool to (hopefully!) see the bond that these two develop as a result of only having each other for 7 months.  I didn't see that coming.

I put together a short clip of the kids playing at the mall.  To say the least they had some fun.

Our friend Diego Ibanez is driving from Cusco to deliver us our rental van.  This is the van we will be driving around South America for the duration of our stay.  It  will be part of our family.  Hoping it will be a reliable and safe means of transport for us.  Looking very much forward to meeting back up with Diego, who was a friend who took us in as family during our last visit in South America.
